Cheeky Monkeys, Cockney Gekkos

Play

The-Gecko-GEICOThis week, we talk about how the thing Americans call a “chaise lounge” isn’t that at all; then we talk about the weird British shop that is Argos. Then, Simon from Halifax (Yorkshire, not Canada) sends us an article all about British cheekiness, and we discuss where the Geico Gekko is from. Later, Helen calls in to take the quiz, and tries to guess what “RoShamBo” is; Johnson, meanwhile, tries on “Y-Fronts.”

  1. Four things:-
(a). I’ve always thought of cheeky as well-meaning, hopefully fun impudence at the expense of someone who is in a position of authority or higher social-standing,
or of a request for something that you shouldn’t ask for, but will most likely receive. See ‘saucy’ also.
(b). Helen makes a good quiz participant. I hate her.
(c). Johnson is getting much better at the quiz. Our collective Britishness is transforming him from the inside out. I hate him.
(d). Your impressions aren’t that bad. Well done. I hate you.

Only kidding, I love you all like bruvvers!!

    Peace

    Cocker xxxx
