Then, we listen to some Irish people trying American snacks, then some Americans trying Irish snacks. Then we hear about some product names which turned out to be rude when translated into local languages, and also some unfortunate domain-name choices.

So THAT’S where the dried mash*, Ovaltine, hot choc etc went!! Wasn’t mice wearing nappies, or the dogs mastering the art of opening and closing tins…… it was my darling children! Who knew?
*in my defense – I was a working mother, and instant mash was a novelty, quite palatable with butter, milk and pepper, truly. Had I known, I could have saved all that time and just given the boys the packet!
Ref pronunciation of a-pricot v ape-ricot…. was waiting for Paul to cite “Apple”. We don’t say ape-le, do we? Gotcha there, I think, James. But Paul – you found James’ pronunciation of Aquafresh hilarious and bizarre….. pray tell how you would say “aquarium”?
